Meeting minutes for March 15, 2010

  1. Sakai/OSP 2.6 Issues and Status (Bug fixes can be verified on the following QA servers Nightly Build (HSQLDB) or Nightly build (Oracle))
    • SAK-15929 Maintain able to use wizards without permission to do so. Has been there forever. Chris hasn't gotten to it yet. He has code changes in place, but has to test it.
  2. Sakai 2.7 Development Status
    • Status update: 2.7 QA Testing (The OSP Test Scripts can be found at OSP Test Scriptsand Scripts for Testing IU Enhancements)
    • SAK-17659 potential NPE's and s resource leaks in OSP found by static code review. Can be closed.
    • SAK-16557 Indexes are missing on OSP tables with Oracle. If Noah can get to it by Beta 5, then it will go in 2.7, otherwise it will be moved to 2.8.
    • SAK-17852 !site.template.portfolio lacks roster perms for all roles. Easy fix needs someone to adopt it.
    • SAK-17940 Auto-select of Portfolio Forms causing intermittent problems. This is a problem in clustered environments, and very hard to reproduce. IU is using it in production without problems. Perhaps the Sakai Foundation should have some test servers in a clustered environment. Beth will talk to them about it.
    • SAK-18142 Reports fails on Tomcat startup. Noah has backed out the change that is thought to have caused this, but has not verified the fix.
    • SAK-18181 Newly reported. Stack trace on importing wizard.
    • Reports tool will be stealthed. In long run may be deprecated to Contrib unless there is an institution that can support it. RI K-12 is using it extensively, but they are on contract with rSmart, so they would be taken care of. rSmart is not using reports in new installs. IU wrote the tool, and can support it. There was a good bit of interest in what they were doing with reports at the least Sakai Conference. There are many institutions that are interested in reporting in general. They can at least contribute functional analysis and design, if not programming resources.
  3. Sakai 2.8 Development Status
    • SAK-17351 Duplicating portfolios (merge pending review on osp test server). Beth, etc., have not been able to get a testing server up yet, but will continue working on it.
    • SAK-16693 Roster Synchronization (followup on questions/answers since Feb 15 call) Also waiting on OSP test server.
    • SAK-15547 Skip First Step of Portfolio Creation (if only one choice presented to user). No one has adopted this.
    • SAK-17579 OSP fails if compiled on Java 1.6. We can wait until Sakai Community begins work on this.
