2008-12-15 Conference Call

Meeting minutes for December 15, 2008

Sakai/OSP 2.6 and beyond Development Status

  • QA – Beth had a call with Marist for Q&A and update on where they are. They have a lot of students going through system test scripts, Noah's document for the Portfolio tool changes, etc. Their students are technically savvy, but not familiar with OSP. We still need people who are experienced who can try to break the tool. Erica and Sean agreed to help.
  • LOI should be joining us after the new year when they have something to report on the evaluation workflow engine.
  • John Ellis had done some work with Pentaho for reporting a while back. Beth has started looking at it at Michigan. Sean will also be looking at it. Beth will keep the community up to date with her progress.
  • Next meeting will be Jan 5, 2009
  • Editing a large matrix with many users takes a long time, according to Chuck Hedrick. We need to track the problem and solve it if it is significant. It should already be somewhat better in 2.6.
  • Peter Knoop polled people on what people are thinking about Sakai 3.0 Michael Korcuska sent around an email about 3.0. Portfolio's biggest interest is the content authoring part rather than the overall UI differences. Everyone is encouraged to read the document and give feedback. It would also be helpful for people to think about what they can contribute.
