Meeting Minutes for Nov. 15, 2010

  1. Community Updates
    • OSP JIRA review status update. A whole bunch of stuff has been created lately, so any attention that people can give would be appreciated. We're back to a pretty big list of Jiras now.
    • Teaching and Learning (T&L) Group updates. Quarterly meeting last week focused primarily on Portfolio Visioning. The group seemed very impressed with the accomplishments of the visioning group.
    • Status updates on OSP Help UpdatesWork continues. The KB staff is working at incorporating the 2.6 help. Robin wrote a dissertation on how to create forms. Should it be linked into the Help?
    • Should the community take over maintenance of the Form Builder? It would be useful to have on one of the Test servers. Chris will get the ball rolling on this.

    • 2.8 QA Status Test Scripts, 2.8 QA Signup with links to test scripts. Lynn's hourly has been working on testing and has generated a number of Jiras.
    • Sakai 3 General Status Updates
      • Virtual Meeting for Portfolio Visioning in Sakai 3.0 Meeting last week with reporting from all the subgroups. The Reports and Personas groups are most active. Reporting group has been sharing info about commercial products, the IU reporting work. The next step will be sketching out desired reports for Sakai 2 and then 3.Is a relational database needed for reporting in a consistent manner?
      • Sakai 3 ePortfolio
    • Independent OSP release cycle: action items moving forward. Back burner now.
    • Reporting
    • Recruiting OSP resources for QA or other activities
    • OSP Marketing. It would be good for the Portfolio Confluence page to be updated to have getting started info. Even a Flash animation could help. Or just screen shots of steps in the process. Robin may take this on.
  2. Sakai/OSP Maintenance Status (Bug fixes can be verified on the following QA servers Nightly Build (HSQLDB) or Nightly build (Oracle))
    • SAK-18766 Erratic Stickiness of Group and User, No page update after Manage Status in Matrices tool (UMICH)
    • SAK-19443Unable to add Evaluators/Reviewers to Wizard pages and Matrix cells (IU). Chris may have fixed this.
    • SAK-18742 Selecting two column layout for a page throws an Exception with a bug report for the end user - 2.6.x DEMO (IU). An issue that was fixed in July caused a new problem if autoddl is on. Fixed by Chris. Affected 2.6.3 - 2.7.1. 
  3. Sakai Development Status (next major release cycle)
    • SAK-14401 OSP Tools don't respect language/locale preferences (only when english is not the default locale). Question of whether some of these changes will be merged back. Some side issues were caused which have been fixed. It will be important to pull in all the related issues when this is pulled in.
    • SAK-19184 OSP Tools don't respect language/locale preferences (only when english is not the default locale) - Part 2
    • SAK-16693 Roster Synchronization (pending adding optional flag, branch, test server review and trunk merge). 2.9, probably.
