Meeting minutes for February 22, 2010

  1. Sakai/OSP 2.6 Issues and Status (Bug fixes can be verified on the following QA servers Nightly Build (HSQLDB) or Nightly build (Oracle))

  2. Sakai 2.7 Development Status
    • Status update: 2.7 QA Testing (The OSP Test Scripts can be found at OSP Test Scriptsand Scripts for Testing IU Enhancements). Scripts have been updated with new matrices, forms, and templates. People are encouraged to test. The qa3 test server has a common configuration, making it a good choice for testing. Marist is testing again this round.
    • SAK-17659 potential NPE's and s resource leaks in OSP found by static code review. Noah has done a lot of these, which should be exercised in general OSP testing.
    • Known issues remaining for merged SAK-15710 (IU enhancements)
      • SAK-17350 Broken link back to associated assignment when editing a cell. SAK-17475 should have fixed this. Should be tested in Beta 3.
    • SAK-16557 Indexes are missing on OSP tables with Oracle. Noah would really appreciate help getting this done for beta 4.
    • SAK-17735 Test form zip file fails to import with unexpected MIME type. It was decided that we should loosen the OSP mime type restrictions. Chris can make the change for beta 4. Then testing should flush out any problems.
    • SAK-17736 Lines disappear in the Actions column in the Add Attachment form. Firefox bug. Won't fix.
    • SAK-17852 !site.template.portfolio lacks roster perms for all roles. We need more details. Is it just that some stuff is missing from the startup scripts, or something more? Noah will upgrade the status of the ticket and put in a 2.7 fix by date. We need someone to look at it.
    • SAK-17853 Unsubmitted linked assignments display in matrix if instructor clicks "grade" or "view submissions" link in Assignments. Fixed and merged by Chris, so should be in beta 3 for testing.
    • SAK-18003 Hibernate Level 2 caching causes desynchronization across servers. We will take this off the list of 2.7 items we are tracking and add it to 2.8. It would take a couple weeks work to fix.
    • SAK-17940 Auto-select of Portfolio Forms causing intermittent problems. UM will be looking at this, because they want it in production.
    • SAK-17953 In OSP Forms, mailto links and links to named anchors deleted on save. Bryan has submitted a patch, but it is a kernel issue, so it isn't in our hands whether they will pick it up or not. Noah will bring it to their attention.
  3. Sakai 2.8 Development Status
    • SAK-17351 Duplicating portfolios (merge pending review on osp test server) Aaron has fixed the items brought up during the demo. Beth and Noah are working on getting a demo server set up so people can test it.
    • SAK-16693 Roster Synchronization (followup on questions/answers since Feb 15 call). Also needs a demo server so people can try it out.
    • SAK-17323 In Portfolios tool, prompt user to give portfolio a name at the time of creation. Fixed in trunk. Ready for testing.
    • SAK-15547 Skip First Step of Portfolio Creation (if only one choice presented to user). Erica will add comment to ticket saying that the work flow for adding the portfolio title should be the same, whether or not the user needs to select a portfolio template.
    • SAK-17653 OSP Column/Row names are not updated at the cell title level. Bryan fixed this in their local build. He will track the fix down.
    • SAK-17579 OSP fails if compiled on Java 1.6. Java 1.5 is no longer supported, so this is a big issue. Fixing it involves some complexity, including dealing with Sakai files above OSP. Probably can't fix it by 2.7.
    • SAK-15929 Maintain can add forms even without View permission. Alan Berg found this and thinks it is a security issue, so he wants it fixed in 2.7. IU will look at it and give an assessment of the problem.

    • Serensoft planning to release its ReportingGizmo to the community. It is in use at U. Delaware now, and will be released to the community once the kinks are worked out.
    • SAK-13146 Add custom form as an option on main page of wizard (needs review and merge to trunk). It is an old patch with problems.
    • Indiana is working on integrating matrices with Assignments II. They are piloting Assignments II now, and will go live with it in the Fall.
    • The new version of the Page Composer should come out this week of next.
