User should be able to create a poll, create possible answers, allow others to access the poll, and view the results/statistics

Course site created with at least (1) instructor and (1) student

setup:

Logged in as instructor

start at:

Course site home page, Log in as an Instructor

Select the Polls link

User directed to the Polls page

2.

Select the Add link

User directed to Add a poll page

3.

Enter the following:

  • Question: Is this a poll?
  • Additional Instructions: Be honest
  • Opening Date: (leave as default)
  • Closing Date: (leave as default)
  • Limits: 1; 1
  • Results are visible: always
  • Select the Save and add options button

User directed to the Add an Option page

4.

Enter the following:

  • Answer option: Yes
  • Select the Save button

User directed back to the Add a poll form where, under Options, should be the Yes option

5.

Under Options, for the Yes option, select the Edit link

User directed to the Edit an option page

6.

Modify the Answer option to read: No

  • Select the Save button

User directed to the Add a poll form where, under Options, should be the No option

7.

Under Options, for the No option, select the Delete link

User directed to a Delete confirmation page with a message asking: Are you sure you want to remove this Option?

Select the Remove button

User directed to the Add a poll form where, under Options, nothing should be listed

Under Options, select the Add option link

Enter the following:

  • Answer option: Yes
  • Select the Save and add options button

  • Answer option: No
  • Select the Save button

User directed back to the Add a poll form where, under Options, should be Yes and No

Select the Save button

User directed to the Polls index where 'Is this a poll?' should be listed

Select the Is this a poll? link

User directed to the Vote page that should look something like this:

Select the Yes radio button

  • Select the Vote! button

User directed to the Thank you for voting! page where a unique reference number is given

Select the Back button

User directed to the Poll list page

Next to Is this a poll? select the Results link

User directed to the Results page where a statistical breakdown shows the answer options, the number of votes, and the percentage

Select the Back button

User directed to the Poll List page

Change browser to the student session

User directed to the My Workspace page

From the Quicklinks menu, select the Course Site the Poll was created in

Select the Polls link

User directed to the Poll list page where Is this a poll? is listed

Select the Is this a poll? link

User directed to the Vote page that should look something like this:

Select the radio button for No

  • Select the Vote! button

User directed to the Thank you for voting! page where a unique reference number is given

Select the Back button

User directed to the Poll list page

Next to Is this a poll? select the Results link

User directed to the Results page where the Yes and No option should each have 1 vote

Switch browser back to the instructor session

User should still be at the Poll List page

Next to Is this a poll? select the Results link
