Site Editor Tool - Import

purpose:

Test Procedure to verify that users can import data/tools from other existing sites

expected result:

User should be able to import specific tools, and the tool data, into a different site and those imports should seamlessly integrate with any existing data

start at:

1.

Under Site Management select the Site Editor link

User directed to the Site Editor page

2.

Select the Import from Site link

User directed to the Re-use Material from Other Sites page where a list of available sites exists with checkboxes next to them

3.

Check the checkbox for a site (that contains active announcements)

  • Select the Continue button

Page refreshes with a new set of options and checkboxes (some are active, some are inactive)¿the tools available

4.

Check every active checkbox for the list

  • Select the Finish button

User directed to the Site Editor page

5.

Select the Home link

User directed to the course home page, under Announcements should be empty

6.

Under Course Resources, select the Announcements link

User directed to the Announcements page where the imported announcement from the other site is present but grayed-out

7.

Under the announcement object, select the Edit link

User directed to the Revise Announcement page

8.

Under Availability, select the Show radio button

  • Select the Save Changes button

User directed to the Announcements page where the announcement is no longer grayed-out, indicating that it can now be seen

9.

Select the Home link

User directed to the course home page where the imported announcement should be visible under the Recent Announcements subheading (pending the options for the number of days to display each announcement)

10.

Change browser to a student session

  • Log in to the CLE Gateway page with the following:
  • Username: aallen
  • Password: password
  • Select the Log In button

User directed to the My Workspace page

11.

Select the My Courses tab

User directed to the courses index

12.

Select the relevant course (the course we are importing announcements into)

User directed to the course home page

  • The imported announcement should be visible

13.

Under Course Resources, select the Announcements link

User directed to the Announcements page where the imported announcement should be visible
