Agenda
Minutes
Attendees:
Francette (UNISA)
Jim
Soo Il (BU)
Mike (Whitman)
Zach (Texas State)
Date Widget:
Francette: URL from Dave Ross with calendaring standards - http://www.bedework.org/. Good source of standards and possible back-end coding examples.
Mike: It uses a BSD license which is friendly to Sakai.
Jim: New link from Soo Kim?
Soo Il: Working on formatting issues with time. Putting together some test cases.
Sort Order:
Mike: It seems that drag-and-drop is out of the picture as it's too ambitious for the scope of this.
Jim: Drag-and-drop is two-fold problematic - we don't have a 100% degrading, accessible option out there, and potential collision with other JavaScripts in the portal.
Jim: What's the status of the UI.
Mike: Still determining what the best UI is for this.
Mike: There's another - pull-down menu. Will get a mock-up.
Jim: Let's work for another week and figure out the UI. Clearly state the options, get some mock ups.
Mike: Will collect mock-ups and pose them as choice 1, 2, etc.
QA:
Soo Il: Clay wanted to bring up QA.
Jim: Meghan May will help us to organize the QA effort.
Cambridge:
Mike: Ian Boston emailed with a status report. Currently have some performance issues under high load, and the patch currently breaks WebDAV. He'll be busy working on Search for next 1-2 weeks.
Jim: Not sure we can simply grab the code and use it. Might not exactly match with what we've decided to do.
Francette: Can we get a print of what Cambridge has done?
Jim: Would be good to work with Cambridge to get their feedback and address their needs as well.
Development Phase:
- Jim will talk with Zach over the next week
Next Steps:
- Mike will put together a mock-up of a pull-down menu sorting approach.
- Mike will collect the different sorting UI options a make them friendly for voting.
- Put together a QA map - usability testing, testing of new features, & regression testing.
- Francette will contact Cambridge to get mock-ups of how they've approached the UI & date widget.
