Example 2
Example 3
Example 4

Sorting UI:
Jim: Discussed with individuals from UMich who work on accessibility and think that example 4 (drop-down arrows) is the most accessible. Brought it back
Mike: Could go any way on any of the options. Sort 4 is closest to existing functionality
Kathy: Prefers arrows (Sort 3) and kind of likes Sort 1.
Francette: Suggests that we could add the functionality of Sort 3 in a hidden way that is visible to screen readers.

Lots of Discussion

Consensus:

  • Will try Sort 3 along with drop-downs that are hidden from the sighted user.
  • Jim will check with Gonzalo to see if we can hide them or style them so they are just numbers for sighted users.

Language of Timed-Release UI:
Jim: There was a discussion about wording in the date widget control.
Jim: We could put labels in a resource bundle to address these differences.
Francette: Instead of "Show" "Hide" and "Schedule" items, we could just have "Show" and "Hide" and have start and end date controls as a subset of "Show".
Jim: Let's use "Begin Date" and "End Date" for the sub-items.
