Notes
Follow-up from Vancouver sessions (last week's agenda):
Duffy: session was fantastic, good turn out. Process of getting presentation ready helped me/Josh to get on the same page, was a positive experience. Hope to get good feedback, 10-12 people showed up for BOF. Hope to have a list of 20 people from non-US interested in helping out.
Josh: Duffy covered most of it. People were excited about CM.
Marc: presentation was a good overview of what we are doing, helpful for others to know, hope it'll be a good template for other projects. Main cool feedback was Daphne and I met with pepple from Cambridge, South Africa. Getting course structure diagrams. US structure is more regiment compared to others. Cambridge is probably not the best presentation of UK. Cambridge/Oxford have more resources. Hull might be a better example. Marc tries to get a European Skai email list. UC Irvine came to us and offered resources, to review and test. They have a well-defined design/development process, ran by an UI expert.
Daphne: general feel is people are excited, and willing.
Marc: BOF was very technical, we frightened the only user support person...wished we had another non-technical one, for user support people.
Following up feedback: we are not getting comments on confluence, no email. How to let people know when we post doc on confluence?
Aaron, confluence watcher is not a good way, doesn't tell you what's updated. Might help to list them on the entry page with notes to help people navigate.
Agreed that if anyone post an important doc, just send out an email.
Duffy/Marc: will try to clean up confluence to help people navigate easier.
We are in review mode, this is critical, need to clean up document so people can review.
Marc suggested having a page listing all institutions implementing cm, (against banner, people soft...)
Aaron: no huge diff between banner/People Soft, we are not allowed to look at banner tables, only views.
Duffy: yeah most cases, people have read access only.
Aaron : banner has api but not used
Josh: even home grown systems like Berkley's are in the same boat. You create views.
Duffy: create hibernate implementation against the views.
