Notes

  • discussed the potential capability of adding inst to be section leaders
    • Oliver says this is not going to happen in 2.4 unless there is an absolute reason to have it
    • info since then...
      • can do this by giving instructors the TA permissions
      • still unresolved design and business logic problems:
        • for the instructors so they would know which sections were specifically theirs, gets a "MY Sections" option?
        • change "TA" column label to "Section leader" by default?
      • Oliver: there are two other related bugs:
        • enterprise provided TAs can;t be removed from sections, but they have to show up int he UI. so you try to swtich the TA out but ---- that there is no order to the role resolving code. so, if in the enterprise you are both instrcuor and TA. there is no set hierarchy. these are documented in SAK-7528 - Getting issue details... STATUS and now fixed?
  • Oliver: otherwise, section info is "pretty much done" and reviewable in nightly
  • Oliver: the local implementations of the CM service is going to be most tricky
  • UCB wants to move now to Roster impovements, IU made it section aware and roster export, now it needs to be integrated with API, expose more section data (e.g. status) and a few UI improvements (waitlist in one and enrolled in another), what to do OOTB etc.
    • if people are interested in being involved with these decisions, watch and discuss on the Confluence site
    • Judy main designer at this point
  • post conference ToDo's
    • post slides
    • take a look at the CM usability reports that were at the conference (IU PhD student, Mark Notess distance learning)
    • Marc will be updating the New Site Wizard and Homepage spec by 1/12
