How to Upload Images using the Rich Text Editor
Uploading the Image
Click on the tool you want to use for creating something that uses the rich text editor.
Not all of the rich text editor options are exposed initially, so you will need to click the sideways triangle to expose more options:
Click on the image icon:
The dialog for dealing with images displays and you will want to click on the Upload tab:
First you will need to choose a file by clicking Choose File, then when the file name is displayed there, you will need to click Send it to the Server:
Once this has completed successfully, you will see the Image Info tab again, and can add your alternative text, change the alignment, etc.:
Click OK and the image will display in the rich text editor.
Resources
Uploading an image through the rich text editor in any of the tools in Sakai, puts them into a folder in Resources named instructor-uploads. The folder is automatically set to Hidden, but allowing access to the contents.
If the instructor wants to use an image from this folder when creating another Assignment, quiz, etc., you would follow the steps above for uploading an image, but instead of clicking the Upload tab, you would click on Browse Server on the Image Info tab, then select the instructor-uploads folder to access existing images:
