Sakai QA Slack Channel

We have a very active Sakai QA channel in Apereo’s Slack instance. We use Slack to communicate during Test Fests, asking QA questions, and communicating with other QA testers.

Please contact sakaicoordinator@apereo.org to be added to Slack.

For a quick overview of Slack (along with some helpful tips n’ tricks), see the following video: Slack basics

The nightly server page contains links to the current nightly Sakai servers.

All bugs are reported in Jira and you will need an account to create or verify any Jiras. If you do not have an account, contact sakaicoordinator@apereo.org to have one created for you.

All testing for 23 using the test scripts is to be completed on 23.x Maintenance Branch on MariaDB or 23.x Maintenance Branch on MySQL 8.

It would be good to test on one branch one week, and the other branch the next week, and keep alternating each week so both branches receive lots of coverage.

If you’re new to Sakai, check out the Sakai QA-Getting Started workbook. There are instructions for creating users, courses and adding users and tools to courses…the basics needed to get started with testing.

Sign up to take the candidate test and be considered for a slot as a QA tester by sending an email to sakai-qa@apereo.org

As issues are resolved, the Jiras first need to be resolved on trunk (master). Once they are verified as fixed, the Jiras will be merged to 23. At that point, the Jiras will need to be verified on the 23 branch.

There are several instances of trunk and when verifying Jiras, you may also want to alternate where you test:
