How to test internationalization Jiras

Sometimes Jiras need to be tested in a different language in which the tester is not fluent. Browser translators, (Google, for example), should not be used. You will need two browsers and two different instructors for this test.

Create two sites, one for each instructor, making sure to add the same tools to each site.

Browser 1 and instructor 1:

Set the language to be tested by one of these methods:

  1. Navigate to Home > Preferences > Language

  2. Site > Site Info > Edit Site Information

Browser 2 and instructor 2:

Keep your default language

Testing:

  • Use browser 2 to help you navigate in browser 1

  • Verify that the text in browser 1 is in the language you are testing
