Ever since transparency was articulated as a goal of user interfaces, and ubiquitous computing hailed as an emblem of our technological future, an unanswered question has lurked beneath the surface. What will we think about, instead, when information systems cease to arrest our attention? In this talk I will explore this question in the context of Sakai.
