Click Matrix from the main navigation

The Matrix tool is diplayed

Click Create/Edit to create a new matrix

'Scaffolding' form displays

Enter the folloiwng:
Title = 'Communications Matrix'
Description = 'Business Communications'
Column label = 'Year'
Row label = 'Skill'

Items are appropriately updated

Click Add Column

The 'Scaffolding Level' form is displayed

Enter:
Name = 'Freshman'
Background Color = use the color palette to choose a color
Font Color = use color palette to choose an appropriate font color
Click Update button

'Scaffolding' form displays again with the column just added.

Click Add Column button again.

'Scaffolding Level' form appears

Enter the following:
Name = 'Sophomore'
Background Color = use the color palette to choose a color
Font Color = use color palette to choose an appropriate font color
Click Update button

'Scaffolding' form displays again with the column just added.

Click Add Column button again.

'Scaffolding Level' form appears

Enter the following:
Name = 'Junior'
Background Color = use the color palette to choose a color
Font Color = use color palette to choose an appropriate font color
Click Update button

Name = 'Senior'
Background Color = use the color palette to choose a color
Font Color = use color palette to choose an appropriate font color
Click Update button

'Scaffolding Criterion' form appears.

Enter the following:
Name = 'Written'
Background Color = use color palette to choose an appropriate color
Font Color = use color palette to choose an appropriate font color.
Click Update button

'Scaffolding' form displays again with criterion you added in 'Row' part of the form

Click Add Row button again.

'Scaffolding Criterion' form appears.

Enter the following:
Name = 'Oral Presentations'
Background Color = use color palette to choose an appropriate color
Font Color = use color palette to choose an appropriate font color
Click 'Update' button.

'Scaffolding' form displays again with criterion you added in 'Row' part of the form

Click Add Row button again.

'Scaffolding Criterion' form appears.

Enter the following:
Name = 'Web'
Background Color = use color palette to choose an appropriate color
Font Color = use color palette to choose an appropriate font color
Click 'Update' button.

'Scaffolding' form displays again with criterion you added in 'Row' part of the form

In Matrix Progression, set Matrix Progression to 'Horizontal'

In Matrix Status colors, click the color palette icon next to 'Ready Color' and select a green color from the palette.

A color palette appears where user can select appropriate color for cells that are in the ready state. After green color is selected, user will then see the Hex color symbol pertaining to that color in the text box.

In Matrix Status colors, click the color palette icon next to 'Pending Color' and select a yellow color from the palette.

A color palette appears where user can select appropriate color for cells that are in the pending state. After yellow color is selected, user will then see the Hex color symbol pertaining to that color in the text box.

In Matrix Status colors, click the color palette icon next to 'Completed Color' and select a blue color from the palette.

A color palette appears where user can select appropriate color for cells that are in the completed state. After blue color is selected, user will then see the Hex color symbol pertaining to that color in the text box.

In Matrix Status colors, click the color palette icon next to 'Locked Color' and select a red color from the palette.

A color palette appears where user can select appropriate color for cells that are in the locked state. After red color is selected, user will then see the Hex color symbol pertaining to that color in the text box.

Click Generate Matrix button

'Matrix' page displays with 'Communications Matrix' on it, and all cells in the first column are set to the 'Ready' state.
