Description
Lifecycle site management at HEC Montreal is composed of 4 main components: Sakai, PeopleSoft, a software component to synchronize information between the Sakai course management and PeopleSoft and a personal archive system where different types of user can browse and search through their history of course syllabi given and/or taken. To help users manage multiple sites across semesters, HEC has developed a Course Site Manager (CSM) tool. The CSM allows among other things, to create working copies of sites, to copy, to publish/unpublish, to associate working sites to actual live sites, import/export course sites, to check archived copies. Many of the operations can be executed on multiple sites in one click to boost the productivity of the user. This presentation/demonstration will explain the lifecycle site management at HEC with a focus on the Course Site Manager tool and how it can cut on staff support time.
