Closing this one, since QA has passed. Note that there is a new JIRA linked for the issue raised in the QA Comment.

Yep, this is a bug. It's not supposed to show calculated grade at all for letter grading.

QA ENVIRONMENT -
vista enterprise, firefox, ie7
smartsite-test sakai_2-5-x-test-075 - Sakai 2.5.x-R57934 gb2-1.1.0-b1 - Server sakaitest1

QA SUMMARY -
precipitating issue was that when a grade was overridden, the calculated grade
showed for the proper student but was carried over to subsequent students in
IOR-view as student view...right?

so verify that this no longer happens.
1 - overrode grades on several sites
2 - only indication that grade was overridden is in the IOR spreadsheet view, with the
grade in the "grade override" column. it does not show in the IOR-view as student or as
the student the way it used to, as "grade (override)." James says this is desired.
3 - navigating next/previous students in IOR-view as student, the calculated grade value is
updated for each student, regardless of overrides.

QA RESULTS -
pass on -test

QA COMMENT -
when you override a grade and then browse students in IOR-view as student, the override value
does not show first time through unless you refresh before you start viewing.
after cycling through the student once the override shows.
that is...for me - hit the student and go to next student and then back updates the grade. hit the student, previous and next doesn't.
contact me if this isn't clear.

AND...not sure if it's pertinent here but worth a comment. in letter grade sites, the calculated
grade is displayed below the course grade but not identified as such.
like...
Course Grade A+
100

for points and % sites,
it's shown as...
Course Grade A-
Calculated Grade 91
