Agenda
 I. Demo of Yale's Placement Test rubric
Peter Liu to demo their use of Samigo to offer remote placement tests over the summer.
II. Begin discussion of tentative features for 2.10 (didn't get to this)
November is probably when Sakai 2.10 beta comes out. This means that features that have been talked about really need to be final.
The following were proposed during July's conference–only the Settings improvements and SAM-1709 (HTML5/flash audio recorder) have sponsors so we should check in to make sure they are on track. I'm not sure that the two that are local to Indiana have enough interest to make it without a sponsor to do the work. Just checking in.Â
Notes from Chat Windo
Diana UMICH: So, students are self-reporting on their AP results as Input.
A: yes
Diana UMICH: User on Slide 5 is the test owner, not the student.
Keli (Stanford): when we pause: when do students see feedback?
A: immediately, or
Jim Mezzanotte: so if you select a pre-existing rubric, the new assessment has to match, in terms of number of questions, max points, et cetera?
Jim Mezzanotte: or, you edit the rubric
Q; Diana UMICH: IF you edit the rubric, does it effect placements from previous assessments?
A: yes, so you can figure out best algorithm--"Update Test Results". Can "export test results" to cs
Diana UMICH: Nice to have the option to repurpose a rubric (say, from one year to the next). Like a Rubric Pool :^)
Neal Caidin: Can conditions include something other than just the scores from different parts of the placement exam?Â
A: Export results of exam fr t & Q to a separate dashboard--this is where additional conditions might be integrated
Keli (Stanford): is there any reporting to see which students were "assigned" to different tracks?
-- Yes: Can "export test results" to csv
Neal Caidin: Is priority based on the order the Criteria is added? Or does it have some other meaning?
A: priority 0 is highest level
Diana UMICH: re. conditions including something other scores --in the case of the AP scores, students' self reported experiences are included.
Diana UMICH: Do you export the placement data to any other Yale systems?
Chris 2: How many students were assessed using this tool per semester?
A: Live on July 4, and in first week, several hundred had taken--took it until registration. 960 student (66 in progress--samigo issue?). No questions from students.
4-5 dept using it for placement---math, physics, spanish, music-they have to set up a project site and students have to join as guests.
Keli (Stanford): did you meet your 70% goal (only 30% of students need to consult with advisor, not 100%)
A: don't know yetÂ
