Subject: [sakai-pmc] Re-proposing - Edia skin manager for Sakai 10

Building on Mark Breuker’s proposal (aka stealing), and tying up some loose ends:

Proposal: Include the Edia Skin Manager tool in the main distribution. [1] Edia has agreed to convert the licensing to ECL V2 (Educational Community License version 2). Edia also has offered to help maintain the Skin Manager in the main distribution. Also Mark Breuker has offered to put effort into making it compatible with Sakai 10.

Implications: The Skin Manager has been around for quite some time and makes it much easier to deploy new skins into a running Sakai instance.

Hi all,

May I suggest to include the Skin Manager tool in the main distribution? It has been around for quite some time and makes it much easier to deploy new skins into a running Sakai instance.

Also I think there are quite some institutions running this tool although I don't have any hard evidence. Perhaps people using it can reply to this message ("Say aaai!" :).

The latest version is compatible with Sakai 2.9.x I would be willing to put some effort in making it compatible with Sakai 10.
