Editing metadata in assessments

Note: To complete these procedures, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. To determine your role, follow the directions in Participant roles. For a basic understanding of roles and permissions, see Permissions and roles: Overview.

Before you publish an assessment, you can edit its metadata from the Settings page. To do so:

  1. In the menubar of the relevant course or project site, click Tests & Quizzes.
  1. From the Assessments page, under "Pending Assessments", click -Select Action- next to the title of your assessment and choose Settings.
  1. Click the black triangle next to "Metadata".
  1. Add any keywords, objectives, and rubrics in the provided text fields. Additionally, you can select Questions to record metadata for the questions in your assessment.
  1. Click Save Settings or Save Settings and Publish.

If you follow the instructions above and the metadata field is not accessible, you will need to create a new assessment type that includes access to the metadata field. To do so, see Adding, editing, or deleting an Assessment Type.
