Agenda suggestions for this meeting
- Guidelines for Proposal review/voting http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/CONF2010/Conference+Proposal+Review+Guidelines
- Reminder: Last year's committee put together a Post-Mortem page with suggestions for future planning: http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/CONF10/Agenda+2009+July+21
- suggestion to set aside a room for "hackathon" activities for developer collaboation.
- from Ian Boston: Suggestion for a number of things at the Denver Conference.
- I think there is support to hold 2 parallel workshops for UI development and Server development in Sakai 3. I would be happy to do the Server development workshop.
- Second: When I have been to Apache Con, there have been several quite successful things that have been done, one of them....A room was set aside for developers to work in and collaborate. Over the 4 days of ApacheCon in Oakland most of the developers congregated in this room and did an informal Hackathon. In the past at Sakai conferences developer have hung around the halls and not really been able to collaborate.
- Maria Miller volunteered to co-track lead - Deploying Sakai
- clarify Tech demo session guidelines - how to address commercial demos (solicit "get a hallway table")
- combining <1hr sessions into 1hr. blocks - synchronizing session start times
- re. Keynote speaker - Kate Ellis said,
- John Seely Brown has spoken at IU and will probably want a fee to speak at the Sakai conference.
- Given the fact that there's no speaker fee paid, what do you think of asking Brad Wheeler to talk on "Openness"? He's been out of Sakai for awhile, and is now on the board of Connexions (cnx.org).
