Site maintainers can select an option to make a file or folder visible, or not visible, to site participants.

Description

Use case: When copying files/folders to another site, instructors can specify whether they wish to hide (make invisible) the content from students or other site participants. Admin staff (e.g., support staff and sakai admins should be able to do this as well).

Use case: instructors may upload files/folders for their own use, but not for view by students or other site participants.

This requirement relates to REQ-145, which concerns the ability to make a folder invisible, while making items within it visible.

Hi Salwa,

When an instructor asks for a new site to be set up in the current CMS at Stanford (CourseWork), they have the option to ask for content from a previously taught site to be copied forward to their new site. Since some instructors store answer keys to problem sets/tests under the CourseWork-equivalent of the Resources tool, these instructors do not wish to have this type of content be visible to students in the new site until they manually release such content to them.
