As a student/access role, going into the assignment and clicking the Audio Record icon prompts you to record as it should. Once you post your recording, two players appear in the CK Editor labeled as Player 1 of 2 and Player 2 of 2 (Fig. 1). If you were then to attach a file to the assignment you will get an warning that some of the HTML is being blocked AND it deletes Player 1 of 2 (Fig. 2). I cannot confirm if this will have a negative affect when listening to the clip during grading.
Another problem would be if you only recorded an audio file using the record button on the CK Editor, you cannot submit just the audio recording. It appears to think that you have not submitted anything. (Fig 3) If you attempt to submit just the audio one of the players will be deleted again and you still cannot submit.
Lastly, as the instructor. If a student managed to submit an audio recording (ie. including some text in the CK editor) the instructor is not presented with the player. Rather the grading interface only provides the outline of the player . The only workaround for this is to go into the source, find the audio file link and download the file
The only other time I have seen the player work is after successfully submitting it when you are taken to an overview of your submission (as a student/access)
While I only came across this in assignments, this may occur in all tools that use the CK Editor.
