Stanford has created a customization in My Workspace > Preferences to allow users to display a site's short description instead of the site title in the site tab bar. The motivation for this is that we display a course code as the default course site title, term-courseSubject-courseNumber-sectionNumber (e.g., F13-ACCT-143C-01) and the course's title in the short description (e.g., First Year Accounting). There were some departments at Stanford in which students only know their courses by title, not by course code, so they wanted to be able to see course titles in their tabs. Lydia Li will attach the patch to this bug.
