Hi everyone! I'm trying to understand the need of this new permission. I think that I'm missing something.

As far as I know, Calendar Sumary tool can be present in any site and a user can configure some parameters of how it displays the calendar and the events. For example, a user can handle that configuration in his 'My workspace'>Calendar summary>'Options' and that configuration applies to all his summary calendars (for all sites).

The new permission 'calendar.options', when added to a site for a certain role, a user with that role can see the 'Option' button in Calendar Summary and if he modifies the parameters, that modification only affects his summary calendar (does not affect how other users from that site will see their summary calendars) but it has an implication to all his sites (all summary calendars from his sites will display now the new configuration).

Therefore, Summary Calendar can not be configured differently for each site, it is related to the user (like a user preference) and if you configure it once (in any site) it applies to all sites. So, whats the point of showing that option just in some sites. It should be shown once (in my workspace) or showed in all sites. So, what is the permission for?

I was confused by the description of the jira 'We need more control over the permission in the synoptic calendar tool in order to configure if a user has/ has not the rights to edit the options.' If Calendar Summary works the way I described (same configuration for all user's sites) I do not understand when would you use this permission.

Thanks. I just discovered that it doesn't show up on my dashboard because it is resolved, I guess. Need to figure a way not to lose track of this. Would it hurt if I opened a separate jira for the documentation?
