This adds an extra checkbox to the download assignments page when "assignment.download.flat=true" is added to the sakai.properties. Otherwise it has no real impact.
---------
Instructors can now select only the items they want to include in the Download All zip file. This represents significant improvement over the original Download All file structure, which included sub folders for each item type in each student's folder-- whether empty or not. Still, instructors need to dig into each student's folder, then into each student's Submission folder, individually to retrieve each submissions. The benefit of this folder structure is realized in the option for the instructor to modify or add attachments, zip it back up, and Upoad All. But only a small percentage of our instructors need to do this.
We've developed a sub-folder-free Download All archive for Mneme. The proposal is to do the same in Assignments.
1) Add the option to download the "Quick View"
2) When this option is selected, rename all submitted items upon export like so:
LastName_username_filename.ext (for attachments)
LastName_uniqname_text.html (for inline text)
3) The Quick View should also include the grades.csv file, since this is the most likely for instructors to later Upload. It also gives a quick view of which students you have already graded.
Ideally, the Quick view would be the default on the Download All page. Instructors who need the hierarchy could opt in to it.
See attached mockup.
