Dropbox folders through the web interface use the display name, however when the dropbox is viewed via WebDAV, it is apparently the EID that is used to identify the folders. WebDAV folders should also use the display name for consistency and readability.
Hi, Charles. We will definitely review a patch and try to apply it, as just discussed on a 2.9 pre-release call.

Faculty at UVa have also asked for consistency between the UI and WebDAV, preferably using the displayname, as Charles suggests, since that is more human-friendly.

We're reluctant to make changes locally unless they're accepted. Otherwise we have an ever-growing set of local patches. However once I know it's OK, I can fix it at Rutgers.

If this change was made (" i.e. the name from the URL. I'd be willing to change it to the Sakai displayname") now, it would not be released officially until 2.9.0 (12+ months of testing).
