Announcement
New Release Jan. 28, 2014Â
We are delighted to announce a new annual 2014 release of the Sign-up tool (version: Sign-up 2.0). We, at Yale, have deployed this new version into production after our successful QA on January 8, 2014. This new release has some new major features such as Site-Import/Archive as well as Tomezone conversion based on the user preference. It also has numerous major bug fixes to the related JIRA issues.
One good news for Signup tool users is that Yale has officially donated this tool to Apereo and it will be become one of the core tools in Sakai 10.
As always, we highly appreciate the Adam's VLE team from Oxford University and they have made numerous major contributions for bug fixes and new features for this version. We would like to thank Neal and Anthony for helping us to work on the Signup tool's migration into Sakai Core branch.
It is now available for sakai-2-8-x and sakai-2-9-x version. Current Signup Trunk is suitable for Sakai 10 version (labeled with 10.0 version).
The major new features from this release are as follows:
- Provide the ability to Import/Archive the Signup events between sites.
- Allow Signup event's date/time to be automatically converted according to user's preference settings.
- Provide the ability to allow multiple meeting coordinators to monitor and manage an event.
Over 35 bugs haven been fixed.

New Release Jan. 15, 2013
We are pleased to announce a new annual 2013 release of the Sign-up tool (version: Sign-up 1.0.0). We, at Yale, have just deployed this new version into production after our successful QA. We greatly appreciate Oxford University and Steve Swinsburg for their major contributions to this release. This release has many rich new features, bug fixes and resolved up to 53 JIRA issues.
It is now available for sakai-2-8-x and sakai-2-9-x version. For any other Sakai version, you need to modify the pom.xml files in the sign-up tool accordingly to your selected Sakai version
The major new features from this release are as follows
- Provide the ability to auto-generate site-groups according to the timeslot in the event
- Provide the iCal attachment for external Apps such as MS Outlook and Google Calendar
- Allow Event organizer to select multiple co-organizers (or coordinators) for managing the event
- Allow Organizer to define a category metadata
- Numerous bugs haven been fixed

We are glad to announce a new release of the Sign-up tool right at the begin of 2012. Yale has run this version on production since Dec. 2011. It is now available for sakai-2-7-x and sakai-2-8-x version.
For any other no maintenance version, you need to modify the six pom.xml files in the sign-up tool accordingly to your selected sakai version.
The major new features from this release are as followings:
- Provide the ability to take attendence of the event
- Allow maintainer to share the event's location in a site
- allow participant to sign up to more than one timeslots if maintainer allows
- Numerous bugs haven been fixed.

We are glad to announce a new release of the Sign-up tool right before the end of 2010. It is now available for sakai-2-6-x and sakai-2-7-x version.

- Allow user to create or modify events with any arbitary timeslots by using 'Advanced user-defined timeslots' feature
- provided the entity-broker service for other application
- allow to send email only to students who are signed up for a event

A release for Sign-up tool is now available for sakai-2-6-x and sakai-2-5-x. Now, the sign-up tool is also available for the sakai-2-7-x version. For any other no maintenance version, you need to modify six pom.xml files in the sign-up tool accordingly to your selected sakai version.
The new release provides the following new features and bug fixes:
- Allow to add attachment to the meeting.
- Allow set up the Auto-reminder for participants
- Allow to export event information data in a printable Excel format
- Meeting owner has now a choice to allow whether participants can add a comment or join onto a waiting list.

Last Release on Jan. 14, 2009
We have a major update with new UI and features for Sign-up tool on Jan. 14, 2009 (see JIRA SIGNUP-11 ). In this major update, the following new features, UI improvements and bug fixes are included:
- Allow user to create recurring events/meetings.
- User Interfaces for various pages are redesigned to increase the usability and simplicity.
- Event tracking is implemented by incorporating code contributed by UNISA
- Improved the email notification message bundle to allow for easy modification or translation.
- Fixed the site-access URL link in the email notification for cross-site meetings.
- Fixed sorting issues such as events with the same title or the same meeting start time etc.
