Current thinking

Your idea's and energy are most welcome.

In my role as interim QA director I have two objectives: The first is to support the community in the on going central QA cycle. The second is to strengthen the already proven processes and find support from the community to implement relevant additions.

To aid in the discussion I have written a short positioning paper and intend with your support to work systematically towards achievable and documented goals. Anthony Whyte as release manager and I will be working closely together.  If you have any questions you are welcome to email us. You are also welcome to add content or comments in confluence.

The positioning papers purpose is to stimulate the debate.  It is clear that there is a great deal of knowledge within the community that can help improve Quality. The community needs to focus and harvest the idea's and offers of support.

The current hit list for short term process improvement will be documented shortly and may be similar to:

  • -         Move forward with Anthony's work focussed on continuous builds
  • -         Improving the visibility of the QA process
  • -         Setting up load tests so that Functional tests can be performed under realistic load
  • -         Making a survey of the QA resources that already exist locally in the community
