Verified in http://nightly2.sakaiproject.org:8082/portal/ that CSS is working and using Spanish (Spain) locale - screenshot attached.

I will merge the fix into 2.8.x if someone can help with testing. Thanks.

Hi Karen,

I tweaked the CSS as follows. Please note that I changed the text label from "Timer doesn't work in Preview" to "Timer does not work in Preview"
<div style="margin:10px 0px 0px 0px;"><span style="background-color:#bab5b5; padding:5px">Timer does not work in Preview</span></div>

I've attached a screenshot of the timer with revised CSS (TimerMsgWithRevisedCSS.jpg)

What about the solution at my patch. It proposed to show a text message (of course, it can internationalized) shadowed in gray.

This is critical from an i18n point of view.
