Tests & Quizzes notifications were recently changed to send the notifications at the time the test becomes available, not when it is published. However, the text on the publish screen has not changed to match, which may cause confusion.

I’d suggest adding a line above the notification drop-down to clarify that the notifications are now being sent when the test is available, and including the new email text. Below is an example from a test site:

On the publish page:

The drop-down option is "Send notification below to students"
