In light of recent LTI changes, the label could also be simplified by removing the version completely, and just having “Install LTI Tool” as the label instead. Also, we discussed at the recent T&L/UX call that ideally this link would be a button rather than a text link, so that it will be more visually prominent on the page.

In Sakai 23 and later, the external tool setup available to instructors from within Site Info > External Tools only works for LTI 1.1 tools (not 1.3). However, in the UI, there is a link that is labeled “Install LTI 1.x Tool” which would lead users to believe that this method supports any version of LTI.

I propose that we change the link to “Install LTI 1.1 Tool” so that is more obvious what version of LTI is supported. In addition, I propose adding an info message at the top of the page letting users know that this method of adding LTI tools only supports 1.1.
