Unhelpful error message when URL is missing when trying to add 'web content' tool.

Description

If you try to add a web content tool via Site Info but forget to add the URL or (more likely) forget or misspell http:// there is a really unhelpful error message which mentions “macros” which (I guess) not a single person uses anymore.

Examples of URLs where you would see this message:

  • http:// - default, pre-populated URL

  • www.bbc.com - missing protocol

  • http://www,bbc.com - comma not dot

It would be far better to have a message that says

“XXX is not a valid URL”

Just a simple message pointing out the mistake. Dont mention ‘macros’ there’s no locatable documentation on macros any more (if there ever was).

Current Message

Alert: Invalid URL. If you were trying to use macros with curly braces like ${SITE_INFO} please remove them: $SITE_INFO.
