Certain question types require students enter data into multiple fields (ex: Matching). If a student enters data into some but not all fields, the question is reported as 'unanswered' in Question Progress panel.
There may be instances where a student purposely doesn't answer all fields. Example: Instructor has set up negative scoring for incorrect answers. A student who is unsure of an answer would be better off leaving blank and receiving no credit than guessing and getting incorrect and losing points.
Adding a third status (Incomplete or like term) would be more accurate.
T&L discussed this on 6/2/21. There was general agreement that this could be useful for students; However, the group wasn't 100% sure about the "incomplete" label, although we couldn't come up with a better suggestion. We didn't discuss preferred icons, but maybe that is a good question for the UX group?

@T&L folks - If discussed during upcoming call, questions needing recommendation on are:
Should a third status be included in panel for partially/incomplete answers?
If yes to #1, what should the status text label be?
