Assessments after late submission period are not tagged late

Description

1. Login as an instructor, create Tests & Quizzes, in settings provide due date and allow late submission by checking "yes until" and provide the date and time
2. Publish the assessment
3. Login as two different students, begin the assessment after the due time (Note: student can take assessment even after the due time because we have check allow late submission option). Now, student-1 should submit the assessment before the late submission time and student-2 should submit after the late submission time i.e. when the pop-up window appears
Problem :
When a student submits the assessment after the late submission period it is not shown as a late submission to the instructor

, the behavior you mention - getting an error to indicate the test is after the latest submission date so you can't submit, and the test remaining in progress - is expected behavior for a test a student is attempting to submit after latest submission date.

There has been discussion about the problems with this behavior (i.e. test should stop at latest submission date, save and submit for student), but it has been this way since the beginning of Sakai and would need significant work to change it.

Needs additional testing in 12, I was unable to replicate the issue on 12 Nightly but may have missed something.

When I attempted to submit the test/quiz as the second student AFTER the late due date it simply gave me an error and left that students submission as "In Progress".

when you return are you able to check this and see if you are able to replicate?
