In Messages Tool: User's email address exposed in emails (TO: field) when a users have configured 'Auto forward messages'

Description

Sakai is sending a unique email to all users that have configured the option 'Auto forward messages' including their emails in the 'TO:' field. Users usually add their personal email address for that configuration so it should not be exposed anywhere. It's working fine in the UI (see screenshot messages3.jpg) but not in the email sent by Sakai (see screenshot messages4.jpg - from the QA server log).

The use case we tested:

  • Create a site with 3-4 users.

  • Two users in a site configure their email address: jmariano@um.es and jjmerono@mypersonalemail.com to recieve a copy of the messages received in a site. (messages1.jpg and messages2.jpg) [Messages->Configuration->Check 'Auto forward...'->Introduce an email]

  • A different user send a message with the following configuration: 'TO: instructor role' and in the 'BCC: all participants' (messages5.jpg)

  • Sakai sends a unique email to the two users that have configured 'Auto forward messages'.

  • With one of the two users, check the received message in Sakai, in the UI, no email is exposed (messages3.jpg) - OK.

  • in the email both email addresses are listed in the 'TO:' field (messages4.jpg) - BUG?

¿Should that email be changed to list the user's email addresses in BCC?

Can't reproduce this issue in the latest version of TRUNK. Please, reopen if you are able to reproduce. I'll also closed as it was describing the same problem.
