Numeric and two characters searches return unexpected matches in Navigator

Description

When you perform a purely numeric search in the new Navigator, it returns unexpected items as matches.

When I search for: 141
This is a sample of the file names it highlights as matches:
DCP_0117.jpg
DCP_0118.jpg
DCP_0131.jpg
yet it does not highlight the files named sequentially in between

When I search for: ch
It highlights every image named in the pattern above, but does not highlight errata.pdf. (Other pdf files are highlighted).

Is it possible it is returning results based on other metadata that is not intuitive to the user?

Tested on three.deluxe.ctools.org/portal. Search results now meet expectations with a similar dataset

http://two.deluxe.ctools.org/portal/ nightly2 is not populating the actions menu so I can't verify it there
