The code in SakaiScript.jws to apply passed layoutHints to addNewToolToPage() is commented out (and slightly wrong), thus layout hints are ignored. Judging by the misnamed variable toolEdit (should be 'tool') in the comment, this must have be somewhat old. Attached is a diff of the stock version verse our modified copy. I didn't check this against any of the 2.5 tags.
