User tool can no longer successfully edit anything but the EID

"I've got a very recent version of the trunk (-r34686), and the admin user tool is no longer working. I can add a user, I can edit the user, but when editing, I can only change the user EID, and can no longer change the other information."

The user tool VM files are calling the UserDirectoryService directly to check specialized permissions on each field. My search for service clients missed those, and as noisy as Velocity can sometimes be, it stays politely silent if you try to call a method that doesn't exist. So back the specialized permission checks will go!
