This needs to be verified by QA

I don't understand your question...
I explained how I did it sort-of for David because he wasn't sure how to reproduce the problem since the grbk for TAs having too much access has been resolved.
ANYWAY - the issue isn't access...it's that the &^%$# popup doesn't go away.

Is it a work around to assign the TA to the other section as well instead of using the gb permission.
Even still I don't think I see this as a blocker in that if it only happens for TA's doing something
they are not supposed to do anyway....

the way to accomplish this now that TAs' restricted permissions work is to assign a TA to a section and then give them gb permission to grade another section (or group).
as the TA, I attempted to excuse an item for a student I'm NOT allowed to grade, as/gb permissions.
the "can't excuse student" popup appears, x doesn't close it, and the green check in the box for the item to be excused blinks on and off for several minutes.
the only way to get rid of the popup was to refresh the browser.
QA RESULTS -
still fails for me

Dave,
I've resolved this issue so you can test. Please reopen if it fails QA.

I thought there was a grbk on this but I can't find it.
ANYWAY...in checking for excuses page function, as a TA, at least I can't excuse an item grade for a student that isn't mine (not in my section) but the error popup won't go away. I tried the x to close it and even left the page and it's still there. see the image. I had to refresh the browser window to get rid of it.
