ok. mix-up in what you meant by "feedback message" understood.
when I alter grade scale I do get a transitory " updating chart" at the top of the page.

I understand now. I think the message that you are talking about is the message in red, which is part of GRBK-874. My reference to "new user feedback message" is a feedback message that is shown while the gradebook loads. I will add a screenshot showing the loading message later on.

sorry it took a while. ie8 locked up my computer (a regular occurrence) and I had to shut down everything and bring it back up.
so, my computer is XP.

Can you please provide the following information:
Browser and OS that you used
Screen capture of the situation where the user notification shows up at the bottom of the screen
Need a visual grade cutoff chart to curve the class grades. The UI should have drag and drop capability to adjust grade cutoffs rather than using the chart and changing the grades in the chart.
