because I don't get a graph and do get an error message.

Not sure if Nancy saw my comment before she tested this. According to her result, this is a pass. With this JIRA we expect the error message. As I stated above, will fix what she tried to test.

TEST PROCESS -
1 - t&q point overage test, max points=45, settings as usual, associate w/gb, published to site
2 - took as 2 students
3 - #1 got 45, #2 got 25
4 - as IOR, gave #1 another 10-->55, #2 25-->50 and ADJ no submission #3 to 46 .
ADJ the grades for others to within the appropriate score range.
5 - in gb, moved it to exams category, included in grade, checked statistics
6 - error message - was not able to retrieve statistics data for the selected grade item
QA RESULTS -
still FAIL

QA Test Plan:
When there are item scores that are greater than 100%, the statistics graph is not rendered but shows an error message. This can be tested via creating an item via samigo and assign a grade greater than 100%.
NOTE: will actually fix this where we render graphs for grades that are greater than 100%
