QA ENVIRONMENT:

Using PC Windows Vista Enterprise SP2 Firefox 3.5.3 & IE 8 on:

UCD TEST SERVER
SmartSite@UCDavis - [sakai_2-5-x-test-079] - Sakai 2.5.x-R57934 gb2-1.1.1-b1 - Server sakaitest2
with gradebook2 (tags/gb2-1.1.1-b1).

QA TASK:

Verify Instructor ability to control release of statistics to students.

QA SUMMARY:

ART 009 001 FQ 2009
QAQC GBNG 004 SUQ 2009

Instructor can now control release of statistics to students.

Display course grades,
Display released items,
Display mean,
Display median,
Display mode,
Display rank (on students GB2 only, not on Instructor's View as Student),
Display Item statistics.

Notes:

Display mean ==> Display mean and standard deviation.

Display rank ==> Rank displayed only on students GB2, not on Instructor's View as Student.

Display Item Statistics dependent on Display mean, median, mode being selected as well, otherwise Item statistics do not display.

If Display Item statistics is not selected, but Display mean, median, mode are, then only overall Course statistics are displayed.

If a number of students are tied for the same rank, they all get the lowest of the set of ranks that they are grouped within. For example, two students tied for "one" would both be listed as "two," two students tied for "three" would both be listed as "four," etc.

Overall:

Verified Instructor ability to control release of statistics to students, QA Pass.

QA RESULTS:

Verified Instructor ability to control release of statistics to students, QA PASS.

Overall, QA PASS.

UFO:

If a number of students are tied for the same rank, they all get the lowest of the set of ranks that they are grouped within. For example, two students tied for "one" would both be listed as "two," two students tied for "three" would both be listed as "four," etc.

QA ENVIRONMENT -
vista enterprise, firefox, ie7
smartsite-test sakai_2-5-x-test-079 - Sakai 2.5.x-R57934 gb2-1.1.1-b1 - Server sakaitest1

QA SUMMARY -
there are new checkboxes in the grb2 setup page for displaying statistics to students...
Display mean:
Display median:
Display mode:
Display rank:
Display item statistics:
tried assorted settings, along with Display course grade and Release items until I figured
out how everything works.

assuming the correct function is...
1 - mean, median, rank and mode show the students' data with respect to the course grade.
that is, the data displays in the top frame of the student view page. they can be checked or
not independently.
2 - NOTHING shows in the item frame for the student except score and out of columns,
regardless of what is checked in 1 above. selecting to show statistics columns gives you blank
columns. when you refresh the screen (in case the statistics data didn't come in for some
reason) the selected columns disappear anyway.
3 - the ONLY WAY the student gets item related statistics is if the Display item statistics is checked.
4 - even then, the only item statistics columns that show are the ones selected in 1 above.
5 - if you uncheck mean, etc and do check Display item statistics, the student gets no item data.

QA RESULTS -
if above is how it's supposed to work...then pass on -test

BUT...
QA COMMENTS -
I originally thought that Display item statistics would put data into the statistics columns
in the item frame. it doesn't by itself. you HAVE to have all the other boxes checked, which relate
to the students' individual statistics, for the item statistics to show. I think it would be nice if
it worked as I originally thought...item data could show without having to have the student's data
available, too. but I'm thinking like ME and not an IOR.
