Upcoming calendar links includes events that are already past

Description

On the current dashboard trunk, upcoming events shows items that have already occurred. See screenshot. I created an event for 2am-3am, but it is currently 10am.

It might be to do with the timezone since 10am my time is not yet 2am in EST.

Note that the 'Past' tab also contains the event.

It would be great if we could come up with a succinct title for the "upcoming" tab that indicated the items in this tab are for "today and the future" rather than just "the future", but I can't think of a way to do that.

Anybody with suggestions about how to resolve this is welcome to reopen or this ticket. Maybe we should reconsider the design, but that makes it harder for people to find notification of events minutes after they started.

This is by design. Calendar items are selected for the upcoming tab if they occur today or later. This was done so users would not have to search for an item that started an hour ago or a minute ago. On the other hand, the "Past" tab includes all items that are before the moment at which the list is rendered. An item that started ten minutes ago will appear in both tabs, but that is less of a problem than not seeing an item in the default tab for a three-hour meeting that started a few minutes ago.
