Travel & Lodging
Suggested hotels:
Both are walking distance to campus and there is a shopping center nearby so a car isn't necessary.
If arriving by plane:
The campus and hotels are about 15 miles from Detroit Metro Airport (DTW). The airport lists sample prices for two taxi services at airport transportation. One-way price (DTW to Dearborn) for Checker Sedan is listed as $45. One-way price (DTW to Dearborn) for Metro Airport Taxi is listed as $31. Both Checker and Metro say up to four people can ride for the price of one.
If arriving by train:
The campus is about 2.4 miles from the Dearborn Amtrak station (map). The hotels are about 2 miles from the station. Three trains arrive from Chicago each day (2:46 p.m., 6:22 p.m. and 11:59 p.m.). Taxis will be waiting at the station. Email Jim if you're arriving by train and I may be able to pick you up at the station (be sure to tell me how many bicycles you'll be bringing).
Sharing rides from airport/train station:
If you are interested in connecting with other people at the airport or Amtrak station to share a ride (rental car, taxi, etc) to one of the hotels, please add your arrival times and other information to the RideShare page.

We will attempt to enable remote participation using the Sakai Web Bridges. Sessions in the Proposed Agenda marked as "Full Session" and the Wednesday afternoon session on Requirements and Project Planning will be in Sakai002. The Wednesday afternoon session on Technical Issues and any ad hoc sessions on Tuesday or Wednesday will be in Sakai001.
- Connection information for Sakai002:
- IP Address: 156.56.240.9
- Telephone: 812-856-7060
- Conference Code: 350
- PIN: 72524
- Connection information for Sakai001:
- IP Address: 156.56.240.9
- Telephone: 812-856-7060
- Conference Code: 348

It's likely that remote participation will be mostly one-way (essentially broadcast of the proceedings to anyone who chooses to connect), but if a remote participant wishes to speak, we will try to make that work also. If you are participating remotely and want to be heard, we encourage you to maintain an IM session with someone in the room who can help you get the floor or relay comments for you.
