This working group evolved informally at the Atlanta Sakai Conference, December 2006. Based on communications at that time, the following organizations have expressed willingness to participate on the Performance team:
- University of California at Berkeley
- University of Cape Town
- University of Michigan (lead)
- Virginia Tech
- Yale
- Oracle
- Unicon
Other organizations expressing interest in this group:

- Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (Spain)
At the present time, a Confluence presence is being created by Michigan, who has agreed to share current performance testing practices as a departure point. An email group will be created and discussions started in the very near future.
