I would like to comment on cross-listed, complex 1 & 2. I don't remember seeing complex 2 at Stanford. Maybe it is because the instructors can easily tell their students in C#1 to only sign up on section 1 & 2. What about complex 3, when we need to do complex 1 section as well as complex 2 section?

These diagrams are meant to describe patterns across the universities we've researched. (We should probably add some information where these patterns were observed though, next draft.) Yes, I don't think we have cross-listed, complex #2 at Stanford. We will add a 3rd cross-listed if that pattern emerges.

In the 5th diagram (one lecture and multiple section types , one instructor) do you only have TAs for the labs, not disc. sections?

Yes, these should probably be labelled as TAs since that is more common. There are cases, like Stanford's Introduction to the Humanities, where instructors lead discussion sections.

I'm not sure if these diagrams are meant to help circumscribe functionality, but based on UCB use cases (at least) Instructors should be able to add themselves as the leads for any section within a course.

They are meant to describe the most common scenarios, but a requirement for instructor-led sections can always be included.
