Notes
Home Tool can be a compound view of synoptic tools. Marc proposed to call it Home Page. Currently it is called CM Home tool.
will proposing to community for a vote when the tool is done: if we create a template for creating a site in which the Sakai Home Tool or CM Home Tool should be selected as the default.
Josh: displaying section and meeting in the same table in the Home Tool can create confusion. Daphne suggested that perhaps we should split the table to two: one for Course Section and one for adhoc meeting.
Oliver: Berkeley checking in Section Info requirement with Stanford. New Section Info has multiple meeting & location support now, the elimination of the group. Also there will no more mixture of getting SIS data and manually added data. There will be 4 setting in sakai.properties: MANUAL (out of the box by default), AUTOMATIC, MANDATORY_AUTOMATIC and MANDATORY_MANUAL. Institute need to pick one of these setting out of the box.
Section Info: want to add filtering functionality, alraedy put in wireframe and is waiting for spec
GB:
Roster: Rudy just submitted wireframe for the permission - IU requested that
Daphne: currently section info does not allow TA to add/edit section. So TA can have the same permission as instructor. TA currently don't ve site.upd. Oliver thinks it is a less issue now we can automatically create section. Josh think it is institution choice to decide who should ve access to do what and out of the box permission is meant for demo.
Marc: is it hard to add an extra permission for TA to add/edit section so we dont rely on site.upd
Josh: it can be done but we need to inform others that they would need to check for this extra permission.
Daphne: will talk to marc offline if we should send a message to sakai group, to find out hat is involved to have an extra permisison.
