Suggested improvements to the Drop Box tool
Please note that these are far from exhaustive or ideal, but I thought they might be manageable within a short-ish time frame !
Instructor 'home' view - showing all student folders
- replaces / includes WebDav link - SAK-5442
- includes 'Show My Sites' link for moving resources between sites
- does not show the 'access' column
- to discuss: should we remove the 'add' button from the top-level, to prevent instructors uploading resources students can't see?
View of student folder
- replaces / includes WebDav link - SAK-5442
- includes 'Show My Sites' link for moving resources between sites
- does not show the 'access' column
- to debate - is the location bar useful here? Do we need to be reminded we're in Drop Box ?
Adding resources - e.g. Uploading files, creating folders, etc
Student view
- to debate - is the location bar useful here? Do we need to be reminded we're in Drop Box ?
- students should not see the 'access' option (i.e. the choice between 'public' and 'site members') - SAK-10110
- students should not see the standard email notification option - SAK-10108
- students should not see the 'availability' options (i.e. the time settings) - SAK-10107
- students should not see copyright options
- ideally, students will see an option (similar to mail tool) allowing them to pick an instructor / instructors to receive an automatic mail
- selecting the 'email instructor' checkbox will reveal the box which allows them to pick who gets the email - for clarity / consistency, they can't change the text of that mail at the moment

Instructor view
- to debate - is the location bar useful here? Do we need to be reminded we're in Drop Box ?
- instructor sees timed release option, but not the 'access' settings (to make it public)
- to debate - instructor does not see copyright options
Ideally - instructors see a box they can check that will send a mail to the student who owns the drop box
General - Permissions
At present, Permissions settings are not available for DropBox. We may want to enable permissions so that students can, for example, be prevented from deleting resources: SAK-1828
