Here's a doctored view of the Sakai 2.1 Resources Tool Add screen with buttons at the top (done months ago):
Notice that all of the required fields are visible. In my own use of the tool, on a monitor set to 1152 x 864, this is all that has routinely interested me. But I'm forced to scroll to the bottom of the page every time. We're hearing a number of complaints about the amount of unnecessary and repetitious scrolling in Sakai.
Here's another possibility:
Additional fields could still appear on the same page, but users would have the option of submitting the form without scrolling past them.
Here's a screen shot of the same screen, undoctored, in 2.2:
----------------------------------------------------------------
This is the height that fits vertically in my monitor, as set, without scrolling. It once again displays all of the required fields. If vertical spaces between items were compressed a litle vertically, as shown in the 2.1 examples, buttons would fit in either position shown above, without requiring scrolling on a 864 high monitor.
